USS Minnesota logo contest

Ok, I know I haven't posted in nearly a year but I've been busy with life. My exciting news is that I'm one of fifteen finalists in the USS Minnesota logo contest. What this means is that whether my design is chosen or not to be the logo for the new submarine, it will be in the commissioning book when it is published. As an aspiring Graphic Designer this is amazing to have been chosen so far.

Here's what my logo design looks like if you're interested in seeing it.

The final announcement of which logo is chosen will be made on December 16th at Target Field at 2pm. I know it's nearly a month from now but I'm so excited.

I really like winter and Christams so I decided to do a snowflake themed font.

Artist Review

I think that Bob Toensing's Bureau of Land Management piece is amazing. When I first saw it I thought it looked like a gumball machine but with mountains in it. I think the title refers to our need to keep the environment cleaner. The piece is designed beautifully because it's amusing but it also makes you think about more. I would use photos and dramatic lighting to help promote this artists' work. The title doesn't make much sense to me so I wouldn't use that to promote the piece.

I don't like labels so I decided to do a card that expressed my personality instead. I used my actual cowgirl hat for the card.
